Ethical AI Disclosure

How TravelOne uses artificial intelligence responsibly, transparently, and in service of the traveller.

1. Our AI Philosophy

TravelOne's AI is built on a single principle: the traveller is the authority on their own experience. Our AI does not tell you who you are — it reflects back what you have told us, amplified and organised through the lens of 30 behavioural markers and validated against thousands of real-world travel outcomes.

We believe AI in travel should augment human judgment, not replace it. Every DNA-aligned itinerary produced by our AI is reviewed and refined by a human travel advisor before delivery to the client. AI is the engine; our advisors are the architects.

We are committed to transparency about how our AI works, what data it uses, and what its limitations are. This disclosure is part of that commitment.

2. How Our AI Works

The TravelOne AI engine processes your responses to the 10-question Traveler DNA diagnostic. Each question uses branching logic and weighted scoring to map your responses to one or more of the 30 behavioural markers.

The AI then generates a 30-chapter report by matching your marker scores against a curated knowledge base of destination profiles, accommodation archetypes, experience categories, and travel personality research.

The AI is a large language model (LLM) fine-tuned on travel psychology research, destination data, and anonymised traveller outcome data. It is not a general-purpose AI — it is purpose-built for traveller psychographic profiling.

The AI does not have access to your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information during report generation. The diagnostic is processed using only your anonymised quiz responses and a session token.

3. Training Data & Bias Mitigation

Our AI was trained on a combination of: (1) published travel psychology and psychographic research; (2) anonymised, aggregated traveller profile data from our beta programme; (3) destination and experience data from our curated global database; and (4) validated traveller outcome data (post-trip satisfaction surveys).

We are aware that AI systems can perpetuate or amplify biases present in training data. We have taken the following steps to mitigate bias: diverse training data across geographies, income levels, age groups, and travel styles; regular bias audits by an independent third-party AI ethics reviewer; and a feedback mechanism for users to flag recommendations that feel inaccurate or biased.

We acknowledge that our training data is not perfectly representative of all travellers globally. We are actively expanding our data set to improve representation, particularly for travellers from the Global South, LGBTQ+ travellers, travellers with disabilities, and senior travellers.

4. Automated Decision-Making

Your Traveler DNA Report is generated through an automated process. No human reviews your individual quiz responses as part of this process. The report is a product of the AI engine applied to your inputs.

Itinerary recommendations are generated by AI but reviewed and refined by a human travel advisor before delivery. The advisor may modify AI-generated recommendations based on their professional judgment and knowledge of current destination conditions.

TravelOne does not use AI to make decisions that have legal or significant personal effects — such as credit decisions, employment decisions, or insurance underwriting. Our AI is used solely for travel personalisation.

You have the right to request human review of any AI-generated output. Contact connect@traveloneglobal.com to request a human review of your DNA Report or itinerary recommendations.

5. Data Used by the AI

The AI uses only the data you provide through the quiz diagnostic. It does not access your social media profiles, browsing history, location data, or any other external data sources without your explicit consent.

On paid plans, with your consent, the AI may use data from your previous trips (as entered by you or your advisor) to refine and improve your DNA profile over time. This is the "DNA Managed for Life" feature.

The AI does not share your data with third-party AI providers. Our AI infrastructure is proprietary and hosted on our own cloud environment. We do not use OpenAI, Google, or other third-party AI APIs to process your personal data.

6. AI Limitations & Accuracy

Our AI is a powerful tool, but it is not infallible. The accuracy of your DNA Report depends on the honesty and thoughtfulness of your quiz responses. If you answer strategically or inaccurately, your report will reflect those inaccuracies.

The AI cannot account for factors that are not captured in the quiz, such as recent life changes, health conditions, or specific trip constraints. We recommend discussing these factors with your TravelOne advisor.

AI-generated destination and experience recommendations are based on patterns in our training data. They may not reflect very recent changes in destination conditions, political situations, or safety advisories. Always check current travel advisories from your government before travelling.

7. Feedback & Continuous Improvement

We actively solicit feedback on the accuracy and usefulness of AI-generated outputs. After receiving your DNA Report, you can rate its accuracy and provide specific feedback through your DNA Dashboard.

Feedback is used to improve the AI engine. Individual feedback is anonymised before being used for training purposes. You can opt out of having your feedback used for AI training by contacting privacy@traveloneglobal.com.

We publish an annual AI Transparency Report summarising the performance of our AI engine, bias audit findings, and improvements made. The report is available at traveloneglobal.com/ai-transparency.
